Feel That Feel

Endurance or survival
Call it what you will or
Do not name it at all

Survivor, I’m a survivor
of something invisible
or indescribable
perhaps
but the scars
are visible
on my face
in my look
at what
you may
take as
confusion
or
anger
it’s all there
whatever it is
I encountered
and beat
perhaps daily
is it what
you see too
are you a
survivor like
me?

Can we form
a squad
of survivors?
but why
should I
trust you?

There’s no trust
in the world
and for
good reason
all of us in it
for ourselves
what can we get?
how does this
work out for
me, you see?
maybe you
will be there
that’d be
nice
or maybe
I was going
to say
someone else
then
and if so
or if not then

I’m a survivor
see
of something
invisible perhaps
not readily
describable
but tangible
like my
sneer or
my questioning
glance.
